How a fact gets onto this site, and how it gets taken off

Wikipedia gives each profile its skeleton and its pointers. The flesh comes from primary sources: company filings and annual reports, newspaper archives, and the Church's newsroom and statistics pages. Every profile lists its sources at the foot of the page, and the essays and explainers do the same.

• A dollar figure or a count that could not be traced to a page the editor read does not appear. It is cut, not softened into "reportedly".
• Every figure carries its year: revenue of $26.2 billion (2025), never a bare $26.2 billion.
• Quotations run under 25 words, are attributed, and come from a page the editor read, not from memory.
• Where sources disagree, the page gives both figures with their dates and says which one it uses.

For anyone still alive the site records public career facts: positions, dates, companies, published figures. It does not record health, home locations, or family beyond what a Wikipedia lead states, and it does not guess at net worth. Politics gets dates and offices, not verdicts; a controversy gets one factual sentence with its source, not a section. If you are the subject of a profile and something is wrong, the corrections address below is for you as much as for anyone.

On August 16, 2018, President Russell M. Nelson issued a statement asking that the full name of the Church be used, saying the Lord had "impressed upon my mind the importance of the name He has revealed for His Church". The Church's style guide now says the full name is preferred on first reference, that "the Church" or "the Church of Jesus Christ" are the encouraged short forms, that it discourages "Mormon Church" and "LDS Church" as substitutes, and that it asks that "Mormons" and "LDS" not be used for members. The guide keeps "Mormon" as correct in proper names such as the Book of Mormon.

This site follows that guidance in its text because it is the subject's own stated preference and following it costs nothing. The domain keeps the word because it is what people type into a search box, and an address registered in 2012 does not get renamed to match a 2018 style guide without losing the readers who already know it. Where a book or article title uses "Mormon", or a person used the word about themselves, it is quoted as written.

Every page lists the sources it rests on, so a reader can check any fact without asking. Where a claim could not be verified, the page says so rather than smoothing it over. A contact address for corrections will be added here once the site has regular readers; until then the sources are the record.

The site first published at this address in 2012 was written by a different editor. None of its text was reused in the 2026 rewrite, and nothing on the current site should be read as a correction of it or an endorsement of it. If you arrived here from a link to a 2012 page that no longer exists, the three section addresses still work and the search engines have caught up.
